Pool Pros began with a simple home renovation that turned into a passion and ultimately a business. When owner Guillermo “BJ” Calderon purchased a 1960s home on the westside of El Paso, the entire property needed a complete overhaul. After installing new floors, AC ducts, interior texture, a tankless water circulation system, doors, new plumbing, electrical upgrades, cabinets, restrooms, and exterior paint, it was finally time to take on the outside—starting with the older pool.

At the time, BJ was also running Security Pros, his trusted 20-year local alarm, camera, video, and audio company. When he asked customers which pool companies they recommended, he kept hearing the exact same answer: “If you find someone, let us know.”

The pool renovation quickly became the only bad experience in an otherwise successful remodel. The company he hired left behind poor tile work, damaged decking, and faulty electrical. Instead of escalating the issue, BJ decided to redo the project himself—this time with a closer eye and higher standards.

That second remodel changed everything. Word spread, and soon BJ found himself repairing, remodeling, and building pools across El Paso. His dedication to quality, combined with his strong customer base and reputation from Security Pros, allowed him to build a team, stay busy, and keep customers happy from day one.
